What is PayPal?

PayPal is one of the world's largest online payment platforms. This American company was founded in 1998 under the name Confinity and four years later, in 2002, it was acquired by the online auctions giant, eBay. PayPal allows users to make online transactions and payments without sharing their financial data with third parties; all they need is an e-mail address and a bank account or card. Another advantage of PayPal is that it allows the user to make transactions easily and conveniently from anywhere and from any device (tablet, smartphone or computer) via its app. This benefit, along with the high-security guarantees offered in the transactions, explains the great success of this online payment system.

Payment by PayPal with credit or debit card

To create a PayPal account, you have to provide an e-mail address and link an account or card held in your name. This last step is essential in order to make or receive a transfer. To do this, simply log into your PayPal account, go to the "My Wallet" section and click on the "Link Card" option to enter the relevant information. You can edit or update this information at any time by selecting the card and clicking “Edit”. This section also allows the user to easily delete registered cards.
